When I was growing up I always thought that the Lotus Esprit was one of the coolest cars.  Even cooler then the Maserati Bora and Merak!  Naturally, all these cars from the 1980s are total mechanical pieces of shit, but today things are different!  Lotus uses Toyota engines and transmissions, so you have a thing of beauty that lasts forever.  There is something rather other-worldly about the Lotus, something that went away recently when Lotus introduced the Elise and the Exige.  Mind you, these cars were an excellent come-back move for the company, because they were basically providing cheap and reliable super-cars to the public.  However, they were small.  In NYC, you can always tell yourself if helps you find a parking spot, but they really look like toys.  Size matters, and the introduction of the Evora didn’t hit the bottom of the car enthusiast’s pussy either.  So finally Lotus has decided to bring back the car that made them famous, in all of it’s glory.  I am not sure about the glass roof, but otherwise this car is gorgeous, and the interior is like something from the Buck Rogers television show – to date myself once again.  Buck Rogers had the coolest space fighter!
